    I. Dimensional Accuracy Requirements

    (I) Thickness Accuracy

    The thickness of cable aluminum foil is generally 0.1 - 0.2mm, and the thickness accuracy requirements are strict. Excessive thickness deviation will affect the mechanical properties, shielding effect, and composite quality of the aluminum foil with the plastic film. For example, uneven thickness may cause weak points in the shielding of signals by the aluminum foil, reducing the overall shielding efficiency of the cable. Therefore, during the production process, it is necessary to rely on high-precision cold rolling equipment and thickness detection instruments to control the thickness deviation within a very small range.

    (II) Length Accuracy

    Cable foil has extremely special requirements for length. It is only allowed to be a little longer and not allowed to be short. When casting and rolling the billet, it is necessary to calculate accurately. Usually, the length of the billet is maintained at 10 times or 12 times the length required by the customer, with an additional 3% error. This is to meet the continuous production requirements of the cable and avoid production interruptions due to insufficient length of the aluminum foil, affecting production efficiency and product quality.

    II. Special Performance Requirements

    (I) Shielding Performance

    As a cable shield, cable aluminum foil needs to have excellent shielding performance. According to Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, when high-frequency electromagnetic waves contact the aluminum foil, an induced current will be generated on its surface. The conductor is required to introduce the induced current into the ground to avoid interfering with the transmitted signal. Generally, for network cables using aluminum foil as the shielding layer, the repetition rate of the aluminum foil is required to be not less than 20%, to ensure effective shielding of high-frequency electromagnetic waves and meet the cable use requirements in places with strong electromagnetic radiation such as hospitals and factories, as well as in fields with high network security requirements such as the government.

    (II) Composite Performance with Plastic Film

    Cable aluminum foil needs to be well combined with the plastic film to form an aluminum-plastic composite foil. The peel strength and heat-sealing strength after compounding need to meet the standards. For example, according to the communication cable industry standard (code YD/T 723.2 - 94), the peel strength should not be less than 6.13N/cm, and the heat-sealing strength should not be less than 17.5N/cm. Factors such as the surface quality and roughness of the aluminum foil will affect its composite performance with the plastic film and need to be strictly controlled during the production process to ensure the quality and stability of the aluminum-plastic composite foil.

    In conclusion, cable aluminum foil has strict requirements in terms of material, surface quality, dimensional accuracy, and special properties. Only by meeting these requirements can high-quality cable aluminum foil be produced, providing a solid guarantee for the reliable operation of cables in power transmission, signal communication, and other fields. With the continuous progress of industry technology, the requirements for cable aluminum foil will continue to increase, promoting the continuous development of aluminum foil production technology and quality control levels.
