    1、 Overview of shielded and unshielded cables
    Shielded cables and unshielded cables are two common types of cables, and their main difference lies in whether they have a shielding layer. Shielded cable refers to adding a conductive shielding layer between the insulation layer and the conductor of the cable to reduce the impact of interference and noise on the signal and improve transmission quality. Unshielded cables do not have a shielding layer, and their conductors are only wrapped with insulation material, making them suitable for low interference transmission environments.

    2、 The difference between shielded cables and unshielded cables
    (1)Anti interference capability
    Shielded cables have good anti-interference ability because they are equipped with a shielding layer, which can effectively resist external electric fields, magnetic fields, radio frequency interference, etc. Non shielded cables, on the other hand, are susceptible to electromagnetic interference from the surrounding environment, leading to distortion and errors in data transmission.
    (2)Transmission rate
    Due to the increased weight, diameter, and cost of the shielding layer in shielded cables, their transmission rate is usually slower than that of unshielded cables. Non shielded cables do not have a shielding layer, so they have a certain advantage in transmission rate.

    (3) Applicable scenarios
    Due to its good anti interference ability, shielded cables are suitable for scenarios that require the transmission of high-quality signals, such as medical electronic equipment, computer networks, and communication fields. The unshielded cable is suitable for scenarios with high transmission rate requirements, such as digital high-definition TV equipment, high-speed Internet, etc.

    3、 Summary
    Although shielded cables and unshielded cables have structural differences, they both have their own specific application scenarios, and we need to choose different types of cables according to specific requirements. For scenarios that require high-quality signal transmission, it is recommended to choose shielded cables; For scenarios that require high transmission rates, it is recommended to choose unshielded cables.
